Privacy policy
Last updated 8 November 2026
The short version. Fablefork has no accounts, no adverts and no tracking. We don’t collect information about you or your child, and we don’t sell or share anything. Your progress and settings stay on your own device.
Who we are
Fablefork is made by CHAG UK Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14504551), with its registered office at Bollin House, Bollin Walk, Wilmslow, SK9 1DP. We are responsible for how your information is handled under UK data protection law. You can contact us at [email protected].
What stays on your device
Everything you do in Fablefork is saved on your own phone or tablet, and never sent to us. That includes:
- the names you give your hero, your companions and your ship, horse or bike;
- your progress through each world, your endings and your achievements;
- your settings, such as text size, music, sound effects and your reading voice;
- your family settings, including the family PIN.
If you delete the app, this information is deleted with it. We can’t recover it, because we never had a copy.
Reading aloud
When you turn on reading aloud, Fablefork uses the voices built into your device. On most devices the voice works entirely on the device. Some devices offer online voices from Apple, Google or Microsoft; if you choose one of those, the text of the page is sent to that company to be spoken, under its own privacy policy.
Hands-free and the microphone
Hands-free lets you choose by speaking. It only listens when you turn it on, and your device asks for permission to use the microphone first. Your device’s own speech recognition turns what you say into text, and on some devices this is done by Apple or Google. Fablefork receives only the words, uses them to pick your choice, and keeps nothing.
Purchases
You can download Fablefork and play two worlds free. Other worlds can be unlocked with one-off in-app purchases, which are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details.
To unlock worlds and let you restore purchases on a new device, we use a service called RevenueCat, which receives a record of what was bought and a random identifier for your copy of the app. It doesn’t receive your name, email address or payment details.
Feedback
At the end of an adventure, you can choose to send us feedback. This opens your own email app with a message ready to send, behind a grown-ups-only question. If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to read and reply to your message. We delete feedback emails after two years.
Children
Fablefork is made for families, with worlds for children from 6 upwards. Because we don’t collect information from anyone, we don’t collect information from children. Anything that leaves the app, such as sending feedback or making a purchase, is protected by a question for grown-ups. Parents can also use family settings to hide worlds above a chosen age.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or adverts. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the site secure and working.
Your rights
You have rights over your information under UK data protection law, including the right to ask what we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. In practice, the only information we could hold about you is an email you’ve sent us. To ask about it, email [email protected].
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Fablefork handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change happens.
